This position was initiated after we launched our ERI Living Lab. Ovidio has been with us for this position since its inception.
His role has been to outreach to Universities in both Los Angeles and nationally to promote our Living Lab programs especially the immersion cultural study abroad in Guatemala.
He will be our hospitality coordinator for any groups that participate in our Guatemala program. He is originally from Guatemala and has been instrumental in helping us to promote, market and design our Living Lab programs for Spanish speaking students as we offer this to bi-lingual students and others interested in Central America sustainable development movement.
In 2012, Ovidio obtained his Bachelors in Latin American Studies from California State University, Los Angeles. After graduating he continued to work in retail management and in 2013 took time off and moved to Central America and spent a few months in Brazil. After the long cultural engaging trip, he felt a strong connection to the region and felt a need to return and give back. With experience in retail management, volunteering with a social justice organization and extensive travel throughout Central America he is very excited to join a team that is working for the future of Guatemala and a more sustainable world.
