ERI has its main West Africa office located in Abidjan, Ivory Coast under the direction of Dr. Dramane Toure.  He is our Director of Africa.

DIRECTOR ERI AFRICA

ERI has been working with Professor Toure since 2005.  He opened the ERI West Africa office in 2006.  For the past few decades, Dr. Toure, president of the Ivory Coast Green Party (Ecologist Parties) has worked to develop sustainability through numerous initiatives and develop eco-villages in his homeland in order to curb climate change. From 1990-2010, he served the Director of Operations at the Ministry for Women's Affairs. During that time, he was also a Special Counselor for the Ministry of Planning, the Ministry of the Interior, and Ministry of Agriculture. In 2004, he was the Ivory Coast’s first Green Party Presidential candidate.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR NIGERIA

Mr. Gordon Abiama, born in the town of Odi, Bayelsa State in Nigeria's oil rich region is the leader of the local ERI Odi Ecovillage team that is currently developing a Living & Learning Centre as part of an overall ecovillage project. He has been with ERI since 2004.  He is also the Director of Africa Centre for Geoclassical Economics, a local based non governmental organization that is dedicated to sustainable development practices and eco justice pedagogy.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR USA/NIGERIA

Francia Udisi is a Bayelsa State indigene from Odi, in Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA.  He is a resident in Philadelphia and an USA citizen.  He has been our USA/Nigeria Director since 2006 working directly with Gordon Abiama who is our Director for Nigeria.  His participation and expertise has been instrumental to the successes of our Nigerian projects such as the sending of medical supplies and books worth over $5Million dollars to the Niger Delta.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO

Fr. Jean Claude Atusamaso is the founder of the Democratic Republic of the Congo NGO Jatukik Providence Foundation.  In 2006, our two organizations initiated the first Ecovillage Living and Learning Center in Kibeti, DRC.  This ecovillage has been a pilot model for sustainability in his country.  We are proud to have him as our partner and over the years we have worked together to help his people on issues such as eradication of poverty, health, education, conflict minerals and human rights.

PRESIDENT, GLOBAL ECOVILLAGE NETWORK AFRICA

Dr. Ousmane Pame is an educator and a community leader. He worked as the resident Academic Director of Living Routes at the Dakar Earth Rights Ecovillage Institute in Senegal. He is the director of academic programme in ecovillages which engage international and local students on rural community projects.

CONSUL COMOROS ISLANDS 

Dr. Nissoiti Keldi (Diaby), was born in the Comoros Islands and was among the first Comorians to receive a baccalaureate in 1973. Together with our West Africa Director, Professor Toure, we have been working with her to formally initiate our partnership with the government of the Comoros Islands.  Our first program will be the Family Food Gardens.
