About Community Threads

Erin Pillman

We bring people together through community pop-up events where everyone can share and receive clothing. We all bring our extra clothing, which we set up like a free “store,” creating a welcoming space where anyone can “shop” and discover new styles. Each event is a celebration of fashion, color, creativity, and connection.

The abundance of clothing we collect allows us to expand our impact beyond the events themselves. We share extra clothing with unhoused neighbors through free “stores” on the Venice Boardwalk and provide professional attire to college students preparing for their careers.

Through these joyful gatherings, we celebrate sustainability and the circular economy, keeping clothing out of landfills. It’s a fun, creative way to share resources, build community, and ensure everyone has access to quality clothing that makes them feel stylish, confident, and cared for.

Join our global community of changemakers dedicated to justice, equity, and ecological harmony. Projects must align with ERI’s mission and principles.
